From Deacon François Lehmann to St Gabriel parishioners
Yes, in spite of COVID19, Holy Week starts today with Palm Sunday.
I realize that many, probably nearly all of you are quite disappointed that we cannot come together to pray and celebrate at St Gabriel’s.
I also know that all of us are under stress, and that some are suffering greatly, either because of loneliness, some because of financial problems, some because of illness, and some because of all of these.
I’m happy to let you know that Fr. McCrory, Sr. Dianna and I are well.
Fr. McCrory can be reached at 514 937-3597 if you wish to talk with him.
I asked Father what message he wanted to give us all for Holy Week and he said :
« It’s important to remember, even more in these difficult times, that Jesus did come into this world, died and resurrected so that all people of good will be saved and come to know the Truth ».
He added that we must try to be « good boys and girls ».
Sr Dianna gives us the following message :
« First thanks all who have been phoning to see how she is ».
Then she adds: « Please take care and follow all the rules of hygiene that e have been given. Also please think of the others around you who might need some help, especially the elderly and those who are ill ».
For my part, I wish to reassure all of you that if we follow the rules of social distancing, and not touching our faces without first washing our hands, we should be OK. I also want to say that I am with all of you in prayer, and that things will get better.
You may know that there are many places that offer video masses through the internet. I have looked at a few in this diocese and it’s the one from St Luke parish in Dollard that seems to me the simplest to get. All you have to do is google « Saint Luke parish Montreal » and follow the very simple instructions on their web site.
Please take care and God bless,
François Lehmann, MD, Deacon
